Founding members of Operation Home

Shane Estes

Co-founder · Veteran & voice

Marine. Mechanic, carpenter, artist. Husband and father. Living with epilepsy and largely homebound, Shane knows firsthand what it is to lose the keys, watch the world get small, and feel the walls close in — and he knows how veterans pull each other back out. He helped start Operation Home so no homebound veteran faces that alone.

He tells it straight — the struggle, the overcoming, the adapting — on his podcast, a front door you can walk through from your own living room.

Matthew Boucher

Co-founder · Veteran & builder

Matthew is a disabled veteran who spent 18 years at Georgia Tech as a Senior Computer Engineer. Living with epilepsy and now homebound himself, he knows the particular quiet of building a full life without being able to just get up and go — and he put that engineering to work on a way out of it.

He is the founder of AI Acolyte, LLC — building AI assistants, automations, custom software and websites, and hosting them, "where machine intelligence meets old-world magic." That is the engine behind Operation Home: the site you're reading, the hub that connects it, and the hosting that keeps the lights on. His belief is simple — the tools should serve the people — so here that means quiet, reliable ways for homebound veterans to find each other and the help they've earned.
